Staff Biographies
Maren Wilm, Director
Maren Wilm is a 1998 Cum Laude graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in K-8 Elementary Education, and endorsements in Reading, Sociology and History. Her teaching experience includes working and coaching for the Pullman School District, teaching for the Federal Way School District, managing and leading 3 and 4 year-old preschool classrooms and running summer camp programs for Pre-K through 2nd grade students. Maren has worked with the youth and women’s ministries of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pullman, Washington and youth ministries at Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moinse, Washington. Maren met her husband at Washington State University. They have made Pullman home and are enjoying time with their three children, Reece, Cora and Eli. Maren enjoys spending time with family and friends, scrapbooking, being outdoors, and playing sports. Shelley Janke, Lead Teacher
Shelley Janke graduated from the University of Washington School of Nursing in 1994 after transferring from Whitworth College where she began her undergraduate work on scholarship for vocal and piano performance. Her nursing experience includes working at North Idaho Immediate Care as a charge nurse, for the State of Idaho as the Public Health Nurse for Shoshone County, the Child Find Coordinator for the Panhandle Health District (developmental screening and monitoring of children birth to three), for the Air Force as a Family Advocacy Nurse, and for the North Central District Health Department as the Women’s Health Check Coordinator (breast cancer screening for at-risk women) and the Tobacco Cessation Coordinator. She has cared for children in every job setting including working as a camp nurse for Camp Sweyolakan on Coeur d’Alene Lake and currently as an AWANA Cubbies leader at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Shelley lives in Pullman with her husband Tom and their two children, Ben and Paul. Her interests are music, camping, swimming, and crafts.
Sue Nelson, Lead Teacher
Sue was born in Redlands, California and lived in 29 palms California for 18 years. After her high school graduation Sue joined the United States Air Force and served for 6 years. She met her husband, Dean in Las Vegas where she was last stationed before leaving the Air Force. Sue and Dean were married in 1990 and have 2 children; Sara and Kayla, ages 10 and 12. Sue accepted the Lord as her Savior as a young child and has loved growing up in Him ever since. She enjoys church, getting involved in her kids school activities, meeting with friends at quaint little coffee shops, scrapbooking and last, but not least, spending time with her family.
Robin Hendrickson, Assistant Teacher
Robin Hendrickson graduated from William Woods University, Fulton, Missouri, in 1994 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in English Literature and Business Administration. She moved to Pullman in spring of 1994 for a position with the Appaloosa Journal in Moscow. After 10 years in the equine magazine industry, Robin became a stay-at-home-mom. She and her husband, Darwin, have two daughters: Alexis and Jordan. Robin is currently an assistant teacher in the 4 year-old classroom.
